This statement means that if you do what's right then you will have nothing to worry about because people will treat you with respect and they will care for you. If you live your life the way you should you will also be taken care of. For example, if you always do what is right and are at the right place at the right time then you have nothing to worry about because nothing bad will ever happen to you. If you hang out with the right people then you will never be afraid of getting in trouble with the law. You can make sure that you have an amazing life if you always remember to do what's right at all times. Someone who lives there life the wrong way will suffer because stuff will always happen to them. They will be looking behind there back every time expecting something to happen. We want to live a care free life where we can enjoy ourselves not where we are watching our backs. Do what is right and live the right way and you will be rewarded. Live the wrong way and do what's wrong and you will suffer.

 

The Neurosurgeon

Duties and Responsibilities:

Neurosurgeon have to collect, recollect, and use scientific information. You have to understand anatomy and physiology. They operate in and around the brain, spinal cord, and nerves and blood vessels. They examine, diagnose, and surgically treat disorders of the nervous system.

Salary: $559,255

Education:

The first step is to attend a pre-medical undergraduate education. In this program you take a year of chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, physics, English, calculus or other advanced math classes, including statistics. Next step is to attend an accredited U.S. medical school. Then you have to get your residency through The National Residency Matching Program.

Demand:

The demand of neurosurgeon is a grown of 14 percent. We will almost need neurosurgeon because there are almost people who will need surgery in or around the nervous system. This will cause the demand to grow every year more and more.

Reflection:

I will not like to become this in the future because I don't find it so interesting. It is a very important medical career because it helps people who may have some type of disorder in the nervous system. I honestly don't think I'm into this job because I can't imagine myself doing this.

   

“Right is right only when entire”

This statement means that if you are going to tell the truth you need to tell the entire truth. If you aren’t you might as well just not say anything because it will be counted as a lie either way. For example, if you went out to two places and your parents asked where you went and you only mention one place then that’s considered lying. Even though you did go to that place you only told partial truth, so it’s lying. If you aren’t going to tell someone everything then you might as well save your breath. You might think that you said the truth because you did go where you said, but there is more to that truth and if you don’t say the entire thing you lied. It is better that you straight up lie than to tell someone only part of it. If you are going to be truthful then say everything, if you aren’t then just keep your mouth shut. It hurts when you lie to someone, but it hurts even more if you only say some of the truth. People are not a joke, so don’t play with them, tell them the truth.

The Naturopathic Doctor

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Naturopathic doctor is a health care provider who treats patients with medicine based on nature. They identify, diagnosed, and treat patients for their conditions and illnesses. They also meet and examine patients, perform tests, follow up and monitor patients, discuss treatment options, design treatment plans, and other duties.

Salary: $74,710

Education:

You need at least a 4-year bachelor’s degree, and depending on the state, a master’s certification. In order to get a certification in traditional Naturopathy you should have an advanced or graduate degree that includes significant naturopathy content, according to the American Naturopathic Certification Board. Coursework includes anatomy, histology, naturopathic history and philosophy, nutrition, immunology, and oriental medicine.

Demand:

The demand for this medical career is good, it is thought to grow by 12% from 2014-2024. It isn’t growing by a lot, but compare to other medical career, it’s growing fairly well.

Reflection:

I wouldn’t become a Naturopathic Doctor because I honestly don’t find it interesting. This medical career didn’t catch my attention. The duties that they have to do aren’t something I will like to do in a daily basis. It is important and I hope more people join this career.

Medical Support

Duties and Responsibilities:

Medical support give service members routine, preventive, and emergency health care. They are also in charge of the family of those who are in the Navy. They also help out in relief missions for example an earthquake or hurricane victims. They assist the Navy Physicians and Dentists during surgeries. They transport the sick and injured to safe quarters.

Salary: $29,000

Education:

You learn basic principles of patient care and first aid procedures. After completing your A-School you are enrolled into Navy medical treatment facilities. You are also given a tour of the sea or ashore.

Demand:

The demand for this medical career is actually about 75%. This career is very important because we need people taking care of our Navy. As more people enter the Navy we need more people taking care of them.

Reflection:

I find this medical career very interest, but I don’t think I will actually enter this career. Your life is at risk and even though you saving another's life I wouldn't like to get kill. I have never been interested in being part of the Navy or any other military. I know this career is important and I hope that other people do find it important.

“Associate yourself with men of good quality if you esteem your own reputation; for ‘tis better to be alone than in bad company.”

-George Washington

This statement means that it is better to associate with good people because if you hang with the wrong crowd then you might become like them. If you aren’t going to be surrounded by good people then you might as well not have any friends. It is better to be alone than in bad company. If you are going to be with the bad crowd then I suggest that you stay alone because being with them will cause more harm than good. For example, let’s say that you are friends with people who do drug or bad things you might become like them because you’ll get used to it and think it’s normal. Now let’s say you had good friend who are almost there for you and who actually help you become a better person. If you are a great person, but you hang with the wrong crowd then your reputation will be destroyed even if you haven’t done anything bad. This happens because we are so used to labeling people and the second we see them with someone else we right away label then the same as the other person. If you want to have to have a good reputation then you should hang with good people or just be alone. Don’t let someone else make others look at you differently.

President’s Day

President’s Day was established in 1885 and originally called “Washington's Birthday” by the federal government. It was traditionally on February 22 on Washington’s birthday, but it was later known as President’s Day when it was moved as part of 1971’s Uniform Monday Holiday Act. Some states have different holidays celebrating the birthdays of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and other presidents instead of just one. President’s Day is on the third Monday of February, so the day changes. Several ways to show honor and respect on President’s Day is that schools are closed, schools usually organize events and lessons based on presidents, and some stores usually have sales if they didn’t close that day. Some stores close that day like the post office to show respect as well. It is a day off for many, so many people spend time with their families. You can go to museums to show respect as well and you can take a moment of silence. Some interesting facts are that President’s Day lands on different dates, shows honor to two of the greatest presidents according to many, and it is on February because both Washington’s and Lincoln’s birthdays are in February. This year President's Day is on February 20.

Chris Paul

Chris Paul loved his grandfather more than anything, he was the best thing he had. One day when he had started at Wake Forest University he got terrible news about his grandfather. His cousin had told him that they had found his grandfather outside his house murder. He didn’t want to believe it, he had just lost his grandfather, someone he loved he just couldn’t believe. Chris wanted to do something for his grandfather and someone gave him the idea to make 61 baskets for him. At first Chris thought that was impossible. As the game went on he had already made 24 baskets in the second quarter alone! That is when he knew he could do it. At the end he had scored the 61 baskets and he as about five points away from beating the record. They gave him the chance to beat the record, but he threw an air ball on purpose. He did this because the most important thing to him wasn’t breaking a record, but making the 61 baskets for his grandfather, the person who means the most to him.

In life you have to have an end, a place where you want to get to. You need to know where to start and stop. You can’t just go through life without having an ending point. It is important to know where you are headed because that way you know what to do to get there. If you don’t have the end in mind then you might end up going the wrong way and that it going to get you away from your goal then closer to it. Goalposts are important in life just like in football. If there is no goalposts then the players won’t know where the end zone is at and they won’t know where to go to. You need the end zone to know when you have made it and to know when you have succeed in life. For example, if I have a goal in mind, but I don’t know where I’m suppose to stop then I might end up passing my ending point and if I continue I will go to where I’m not suppose to. It is important to have goals, but it is also important to know where you want those goals to take you.

Screenwriter

Duties and Responsibilities:

They write scripts based on their own ideas or ideas from previous shows, movies, etc. They are responsible for writing the stories in details, describing the environment and how the characters feel at specific times. Before writing the scripts for the actors they write a shooting script. In this script they write how the camera, lighting, and shot instructions should be. While writing the script they must take into account what the director and producers want. They must be able to collaborate good with others. They are sometimes told to change their scripts various times because the crew might not like it.  

Salary: Average of $60, 250

Education:

There is no formal education, but most writers get experience from previous experiences for example writing competition. Creativity and talent are important in this career. You need to have creativity in order to produce a script because they come from your imagination, if you don't have any then it will be difficult for you to write. Having patience, self-motivating, and being able to accept criticism are also important since you are evaluation by others.

Demand:

Screenwriters have a low increase of 2% from 2014-2024. The demand isn’t high because directors mostly use known screenwriters.

Reflection:

I will actually love to be a screenwriter because I enjoy writing and I feel like i have a good imagination as well. I can always come up with a story fast and I think that is very important for a screenwriter. It isn’t my number one career, but it is one of my options. I also like working in movies, tv shows, etc. and working with actors.

“Only those live who do good.”

This statement by Mr.Tolstoy means that those who truly live are the ones who do good or try to do good. If  you are going to live in this life then you should try your best to make it about helping others. What is the point of living if you are going to waste it on your own selfish reasons and not caring about others. You were brought to this world by someone else, someone who wasn’t selfish, yet you go around treating others like they don’t matter. For example, let’s say you have an amazing live, but you don’t think about anything, but fame and yourself. You forget about your family when in reality thanks to them you have what you have now. Don’t say you did this yourself because first of all you wouldn’t be alive if it wasn’t for your parents. They are the ones who gave you what you needed, so they take part in your success. The point is that you can’t say you are living if you aren’t helping someone along the way. If you are living the wrong way then you aren’t truly happy because you have no one to share your success with. If you want to live then you have to do good, that’s the only way.

This statement means that you can change something if you don’t like it. It all depends on the work you are willing to put in it. If you don’t like something then don’t complain about it, do something. If you aren’t going to change what you don’t like then you might as well stop complaining. For example if you don’t like how you are being treated then you should talk to that person and tell them how you feel. Another example is that if you  don’t like your life like Ben Carson then you should work hard to give yourself and your family a better life. I don’t like the way my mom is always working hard and she has even gotten hurt just to give me what I need and for that reason I always try my hardest at school so I can get a good career and make sure that my mom doesn’t have to work anymore. You make your life whatever you want. You have the power to change your life if you are willing to, of course. Don’t sit back and let life pass you, do something out of life because you only have one life might as well make it the best.

“Even if everyone is doing it, WRONG IS NEVER RIGHT”

-Russell M. Nelson

In this statement Mr.Nelson tells us that the most famous option isn’t the correct one. Just because everyone is choosing that option it doesn’t mean it is the correct one. For example, if everyone decides to do drugs it doesn’t mean that you are going to do it as well. You know it is wrong no matter how many times people tell you to do it. Be a leader not a follower, make your own path don’t follow the one that was already made. Another example is if you friends decide to lie to their parents and they tell you to do the same, don’t let the pressure get to you and do what they do. They are going to get in trouble and you know that so why follow their footsteps. Nelson is telling to let us know that we should always follow what we want to do and what is right and not what another say is right. We are all unique, but if you decide to follow the crowd then you are just like everyone else and what’s the point of that. Do what is right even if everyone is against it!!
